Wedding Day Countdown

Besides being the start of a new year, 1/1/11 started the official countdown to my October wedding! My fiancé and I are too excited for words! We became engaged last July and I swear I started wedding planning the very next day! Color scheme? Dress? Location? Too many questions with infinite answers because no two couples are alike. Of course, I'm a Casual Glam girl so it stands to reason that I'm marrying a pretty laid back guy. While we both appreciate tradition, neither of us like the rigidity of rules and formality. Suffice it to say that our wedding will be a Casual Glam affair with plenty of traditional touches where appropriate and lots of original ideas that reflect our personalities throughout!

I was a bit secretive about my initial planning...not wanting to look like a wedding crazed Bridezilla and all. But I was determined to get started early so that our day would be beautiful and I'm happy I did! After only a few weeks of engaged bliss we decided on a destination wedding in Savannah, GA and scheduled a planning trip in late October to get started on the planning process. Over the course of that weekend trip, we had dozens of meetings, but finally ended up booking our ceremony and reception sites, caterer, photographer, and coordinator! We also got some good leads on a florist, dj, videographer, and beverage caterer. As the holidays quickly approached we rested easy figuring the bulk of the work was behind us. How wrong we were! This new year brings the realization that we have no location for the welcome dinner (we’re not having a bridal party so we’re not having a typical ‘rehearsal dinner’), no tables, chairs or linens, no dj, no idea of where to start planning our menu and not a clue for other details like the type of ceremony, how we want the reception to go or where we want to go for the honeymoon. So much to do and now the clock is officially ticking! I spent all day working on wedding stuff and following up with vendors. And what do I have to show for all my hard work, you say? That cute little wedding countdown widget below :) You can get one just like it HERE. I’ll keep you posted on my wedding planning progress.
